When someone tries to start a casual conversation with you, don’t blurt out: “Dude, did you see the 9, 10, and 11 o’ clock Sportscenter today? Oh man, they were all the exact same, but soooooo good!” Yea, don’t do that. As much as sports might run your life, you can let other things into your life. Don’t be “that guy” who is always running their mouth off at the dinner table about “how the NBA sucks” or about “how much you hate the New York Yankees” (well, that’s actually okay), or “how hot Erin Andrews from ESPN is.” We get it – you love sports. But when you’re at a college where there are tons of interesting people and awesome differences among the student body, there’s no reason in keeping things so one-dimensional. Branch out.
When it really comes down to it, there are lots of ways to decorate your room (and your life, for that matter) with your love for sports while not overdoing it (look around the archives on dormdelicious.com for decorating/college life tips). Loving sports is wonderful. Being “that guy,” is horrible.
